We've had psychopathic AIs, racist AIs, AI that can debate the merits of space exploration in a convincing manner, and now we have an AI that believes birds have horns and bunnies have warp technology. That one's going to be tough to beat.

Correction: the AI doesn't "believe" anything, it's an automaton being trained to dissemble convincingly. As such, it may become a model politician.
ReplyDeleteSchöne Maschine!
ReplyDeleteThis has a high stupid factor.
ReplyDeleteNo; the AI is mostly correct. The person in question (Obi Wan) is about to do nothing, and allow himself to be cut down by Darth Vader, he's definitely not in it to win, let alone attempting to control the galaxy. Furthermore, "The Galaxy" is ambiguious, presumably, without context, we should assume our galaxy. However, the intro sequence clearly states that the story takes place in a different Galaxy.
ReplyDeleteNow, granted, a hangar bay isn't quite a train station, but I'm not overly surprised that the AI is quite content to merge space trains with regular trains.
