Everyone matters, but not everyone needs help
The first screenshot is doing the rounds on the internet. The second one was seen in a post by John Poteet. It is by far and away the stupidest thing I've seen asked this year. If you don't understand why it is stupid,

ReplyDeleteIf I was at the table I would share my food with Bob.
ReplyDeleteAdam's is correct. Colin Fahey does not understand the nature of God, history, law or anything that is good
ReplyDeleteWow. Colin Fahey is a dick. No dessert for him.
ReplyDeleteIt's "although"; not "all though". No food for Adam since he has poor grammar. 😄
ReplyDeleteAlso, I can kind of see Colin's point of view depending on the exact circumstances. Was the food served to the other people or was it a buffet type thing where they got up to get it? If the food was served, did Bob pass off the person waiting on them? Was Bob sitting at the table when the food was served? If it was a buffet and Bob doesn't have any physical issues that would make it difficult for him to get his own food, I would say that he should get his lazy arse up and get some before it's all gone.
Kindof a wierd comparison but i can understand what adam is saying. However for the statement "everyone deserves food" to be true then bob would also get food. By them keeping up their eating without giving bob any food, they are effectively saying "everyone except bob deserves food" so i dont think it is a completly fair comparison. But Colin is still a complete dick for his responce.
ReplyDelete"By them keeping up their eating without giving bob any food, they are effectively saying "everyone except bob deserves food" so i dont think it is a completly fair comparison"
ReplyDeleteThat is exactly the point. They are hypocrites. It would be absolutely fine if they actually gave Bob some food.
P.S. This is directed at the specific US organised movements "Black Lives Matter" and "All Lives Matter" - not the notions of which is more important. If you assume the latter, I guess it doesn't make much sense.
ReplyDeleteRhys Taylor I agree. And i was partially hinting to the Blm vs Alm situation( tho i must admit it didnt come off that way )
ReplyDeleteBoth of which are kind of misguided movements in my opinion.
While the blm Black lives matter movement activists are loud ( they resort to shouting at people until they just leave ).
They say awful things on social media ( twitter and tumblr ).
Like start the #fuckfrance hashtag ( Saying that we shouldnt feel sorry for the bombings that occured in France because they kept black slaves in the 1800s.
Which i think is a much dumber statement than the one Colin Fahey made).
And they also advocate for a society that is alarmingly similar to what the kkk wanted (with seperate black/white dorms in universities etc.).
While i agree with some of their ideas ( that black people are discriminated against, especcially by the police ).
I dont think the way they are handling things are going to help in any way, i feel its harmful and will just spark more hate.
On the other hand i feel the All lives matter people are not helping the situation either by antagonising and lighting the fire under what is as i understand it already a volatile situation.
My point was However that if they would stand by their statement that "All lives matter" ( and as i would like to think most decent people think ) then there should really be no problem.
In all fairness i must admit i do not know alot about All lives matter as a movement as i mainly hear about the stunts the Black lives matter people pull. But i guess i just assumed they where a kindof parody or trolling phenomena, like meninism( parody of feminism ). And not a serious organised movement.
Henning Lande I agree with all of that. As far as I can tell, ALM exist solely to oppose BLM. There would be no problem if they really were humanists campaigning for equal rights for everybody.
ReplyDeleteReminds me of this :
