What's got me worried in particular is that they seem to be going for the gritty realism angle, and personally I think that's fundamentally incompatible with Star Wars. They've even got Darth Vader, a villain so evil and so pantomime that his own theme tune starts playing when he walks into a room. I have a hard time dealing with those two very different vibes.
.... and yet the sad Star Wars music could be used to sell me anything.
Ah ok, the gritty thing hadn't even occurred to me. I guess I'm in that fan base that likes something enough to be excited but not worried when they try new things.
Whereas I'm a Stargate super-fan so am torn about the trilogy reboot. + We get more Stargate - It's a reboot that'll ignore the 10 seasons of SG-1
I hear ya on this trailer. I was trying to keep my enthusiasm curbed with The Force Awakens, but succumbed after seeing the practical sets and costumes. I pretty much lost it when I learned that they actually built BB-8, but to say the story was recycled undermines the work that goes into recycling.
I would describe my mood towards Rogue One as curious. I'm glad JJ isn't at the helm. Hopefully, R2 and C3P0 won't be shoe-horned in. The best thing about TFA was the new characters and I'm curious if something better will be created by taking a further step away from the central cast. We'll have to wait and see.
Need ? There's no need, it's just a thing that happens whether I want it to or not. Plus it's a combination of actual trailers for an actual film. It wouldn't make any difference if it was a fan film, I'd still have an opinion on it.

They're actually doing the trilogy thing ? I heard about that years ago but assumed it had died. I think I'd be happier if they finished Atlantis.

Dunno why you need to feel anything about this. It's a fan film, not an actual trailer.
