Parliament has passed the Brexit bill, paving the way for the government to trigger Article 50 so the UK can leave the European Union. Peers backed down over the issues of EU residency rights and a meaningful vote on the final Brexit deal after their objections were overturned by MPs. The bill is expected to receive Royal Assent and become law on Tuesday.

  2. Also astonishing as one of the reasons for Brexit was more democracy and now they are leaving every detail to the executive branch. Just like the EU before the last reform.

So the talks about Brexit will be less democratic on the British side then on the EU side.

  3. Michel Kangro Brexiteers don't care about details, only ideologies. As long as they get Britain out of Europe at any cost, they're happy. What's astonishing is that Parliament doesn't have the guts to stand up to this. Actually formulating some kind of even vaguely coherent exit strategy is too difficult, but hell, we must get out, it's the will of the people... so if jumping off the cliff is the only option, then it's time for some base jumping without a parachute.
