Batman done very VERY wrong

As dumb as it sounds.

A Pennsylvanian school district has given its teachers baseball bats in the fight against school shooters. All 500 teachers of Millcreek School District near Erie got a 16in (41cm) bat in the wake of the Parkland, Florida high school attack in February.

Though the bats are largely symbolic, Superintendent William Hall said, they are there as a "last resort". "Unfortunately, we're in a day and age where one might need to use them to protect ourselves and our kids." The superintendent said the aim was to have a "consistent tool" for every teacher in every classroom.

  1. That 16" would be their wingspan, right? The bats are supposed to fly around and confuse the shooter, I suppose...

  3. Apparently less infamous than the National Rifle Association is the Pennsylvania Bat Association. Their motto is the RKBAA - the Right to Keep Batting Armed Attackers.

  5. Scalia: Obviously it refers to unrestricted the right of individuals to genetically engineer bear-bat hybrid mutants, and it always has. I'm an Originalist.

  6. Of course teachers should get proper tactical gear as well as some chemical agents to decapacitate hostiles and challenging students. If modern arms are not available they could at least give proper swords heavy enough to decapitate wisecrackers, and of course sharpened poles and some grease to help impale their bodies afterwards as a warning for others. Oh wait, this was about school shooters and not just class room discipline? Or was it about physical education and baseball?
