Brexiteer policy is a torrent of hypocrisy

The incoherency of the Brexiteer complaints about the British government exercising power they insist that it should have is nothing new. More interestingly though :

There’s another thing many of them have recently changed their mind on: the merits of an appointed House of Lords. Today, they scream that peers have no right to have a say on the biggest issue facing the country because they are “unelected”.

But six years ago, when the then Coalition government tried to introduce elected lords, many of these Brexiteers voted against. Mr Rees-Mogg led the Tory rebellion. Mr Jenkin asked why we were replacing the “current effective, proven and appointed House with more elected politicians”. Mr Davis added to his record for voting against the Government more than any other Tory MP by joining them in the division lobby.

Now they rail against unelected peers, oppose all attempts to give Parliament more power and stay silent as their colleagues who vote against the Government are called “traitors”. What’s changed their mind?
