Much awesome! I had a patent filing along those lines once upon a time ("GUI with non-Euclidean bookcase metaphor" or something like that). I wish some of these 3D/game engines existed back then -- would have been fun to demo and experiment with, but the OpenGL to do it was well beyond my capabilities. :-/
