Science versus the feelies

Via Anthony Shaw (see https://plus.google.com/u/0/+RhysTaylorRhysy/posts/KdUJZRoD3wa - Google+ won't me link to the correct Anthony Shaw). It deserves its own post. Why merely believing something is useless for science, as demonstrated by climate change deniers.

  1. Mar 7, 2013 YouTube video assertions failed to prove anything because the prediction of warming the planet failed to materialize. Plants need CO2 to give us food and oxygen! That's real science! There was much more CO2 in the past.

  2. Rhys Taylor Why aren't you questioning whether nuclear power plants are the major cause of ocean temperature rise? Why don't you question whether fireworks are safe for the environment? Why are you on the side of taxation? Why do you think objects made all of the directed working mechanisms inside of you that are essential to your existence when there is no natural cause for he significant sequencing that made everything that you are as a human being? Why do you think objects with no mind can make a mind? Average sized proteins will never form on their own in 20 billion years.

Absurd. Look up "climate" in a dictionary. We're not talking about "weather" here.

" Plants need CO2 to give us food and oxygen! That's real science! There was much more CO2 in the past."
Yeah, did you actually watch the video ? Those points are specifically addressed.

"Why aren't you questioning whether nuclear power plants are the major cause of ocean temperature rise?"
Because to warm the oceans by 0.1 C in 50 years would take about 130,000 nuclear power plants and there are actually less than 500.

"Why are you blah blah blah blah blah..."
Seriously, stop trolling. Your questions are utterly irrelevant to the topic at hand.

  4. Rhys Taylor Thanks for showing you failed to disprove anything I said. Addressing something doesn't disprove it. CO2 also fails to cause global warming. Nuclear plants actually do cause warming. CO2 causes plants to grow which results in cooling. Don't call me a troll for calling you out on your object credit giving. No unguided visible thing can ever make any directed working part of you so your Maker is invisible. Feel free to prove your positive assertion.

  5. You're bringing Creationism (again) into something that has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with it. That is trolling. Stop it.

  6. Science I'm afraid, has never proved to be too reliable in the interests of the idiota, ever.
The "Elephant in the Room" is that (a) nothing humans can do is going to have any major effect and (b) there is always a way to make a buck out of anything.... at least for a while.

  7. Rhys Taylor I guess I did get off topic. It's dear to my heart. : )
