"A French woman has won a disability grant after telling a court she suffers from an allergy to electromagnetic radiation from gadgets. Marine Richard, 39, was told she may claim €800 (£580) per month for three years as a result. She said it was a "breakthrough" for people affected by electromagnetic hypersensitivity (EHS)."
Riiiiight.

I seem to remember there were proper experiments done in the UK because people were saying they had this problem. The results of them saying when they thought the field was present or absent were no better than random guesses. It's one of the things David Icke goes on about, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteDavid Icke says a lot of things. As far as I know there's no good evidence that EHS is really caused by EM fields.

Some people seem to have this almost desperate need to believe that unnatural things are unhealthy.
Some people are hypochondriacs.
ReplyDeleteJames Karaganis Can you claim money for that condition?
ReplyDeleteApparently ... yes, you can.
ReplyDeleteThis is ridiculous. Should be listed under mental disability.
ReplyDeleteLive in a Faraday cage.
ReplyDeleteThat would do it ... as long as you accept basic physics. I gather these people don't.
ReplyDeleteIn fact they've tried. Which is yet more proof, if it were needed, that it's not about EM fields at all.

They'll just claim it's the RF from the next town over. You really can't explain terms such as non-ionizing radiation, threshold effects and the Inverse-Square Law to people wearing mental earplugs.
