  5. Richard G Yeah, it was very nearly the best outcome. A few more seats lost by the Tories and we'd have something much more interesting. However, given the pressure that will now be on May, I suspect we'll be in that interesting situation rather quickly.

  6. Maybe, SNP can pick up some seats in the next election by promising no Scottish independence referendum through cancelling Brexit.

  7. If SNP promise no Scottish Referendum Repeat, don't they lose half their raison d'etre?

    Right now I want to be an independent Scot in the EU. Or French. Which would be quite different from my current status as a Cornish American in the US.

  8. Richard G: Possibly, but these are such weird times that it actually makes some sense: Scotland remaining inside EU might right now be a bigger issue — and vote-getter — for SNP than Scotland not remaining inside UK.
