David Davis finally gives up

Sixth times' the charm (https://www.newstatesman.com/politics/uk/2018/07/all-times-david-davis-threatened-resign-over-brexit-he-finally-did), although strictly speaking he didn't even bother threatening in advance this time.

I see that the Brexiteers are still insistent that they know what it is the country voted for, even though the question said precisely squat about what kind of Brexit was on offer. Quelle surprise. Davis' hypocrisy (https://plus.google.com/u/0/+RhysTaylorRhysy/posts/C7Cxz8jBVZX) is patently absurd, so good riddance to bad rubbish on that score. We'll see if anyone better turns up, but I doubt it.

Soft Brexit awful, hard Brexit worse. But soft Brexit still awful. So now's the perfect time to call the whole thing off. Everyone's bored of politics, the EU keeps saying they'll let us stay if we want to, it's far far FAR too hot, and for reasons I understand even less than people who think leaving the world's largest economic bloc would be a good idea, half the country are raving about some people kicking a ball around with the enthusiastic vigour normally associated with illegal sex acts. Let's just quietly call the whole thing off and get back on with our petty little lives. Plus we'd get more legitimacy when making fun of the Americans again. Nothing to lose and everything to gain.
